Known for its sportswear, iconic Japanese brand Sacai abandoned its loose-fit garments for new, more structured, slimmer shapes for its Spring/Summer 2019 collection.
Founded in 1999 by Chitose Abe, a disciple of designer Junya Watanabe, this luxury Japanese brand takes great enjoyment from dissecting garments and making asymmetry the focal point of its creations, but has focused mainly on sportswear. Chitose Abe has now extended her artistic research to include classic pieces, from the trench coat to military jackets and shirts with plastrons. The male and female wardrobes become one, always carried by the technical strength of Chitose Abe’s work.
Chitose Sacai’s latest collections can be found on the brand’s website.
