From her studio located in the heart of the quiet town of Neyagawa, Reiko Fujimoto works with aluminum and brass; having graduated from the Osaka school of art, she began her career creating drawings for a small producer of kitchen utensils. She then studied under Shigeru Terachi, master of the art of Tankin, a traditional hammer and metalwork process.

Now at the head of her own studio, Fujimoto mostly designs cutlery. Certain tools within her arsenal date back to the Edo epoch and were gifted to her by the artisans with whom she completed her apprenticeship. It is thanks to these primary tools that she is able to give her pieces a functional form conceived to stand the test of time. Her signature aesthetic? Deceptive simplicity, the ultimate elegance.
