Teruo Kurosaki studied physics but ended up working as a design entrepreneur as a result of his travels. He created his company IDÉE in 1975, which first imported antiques, before the brand started producing its own furniture collections in 1982.

Beyond the world of design, Teruo Kurosaki is also behind various initiatives in Japan. An expert analyst who very much embodies the spirit of the times, he launched the MIDORI.so chain of coworking spaces. He was also responsible for the installation of the popular Farmers Market outside the United Nations University in Tokyo. Remaining within the realm of lifestyle, the entrepreneur took over a farm in Takigahara where visitors can stay and where numerous cultural events are held all year round.
