Art House, the Japanese Film Distributor in France
It's thanks to this promoter of Japanese cinema that French audiences have been able to discover filmmakers like Ryusuke Hamaguchi.

Art House, launched by Éric le Bot in 2018, pays homage to the eponymous Art House project on the Japanese island of Naoshima, and is dedicated to contemporary art and arthouse cinema.
The distributor notably offered Happy Hour, a film by Japanese director Ryusuke Hamaguchi, released in 2017. At five hours long, Art House decided to split the film into five episodes. There was also Invasion by Kiyoshi Kurosawa, inspired by a cinematic composition from the series Yocho Sanpo Suru Shinryakusha Gekijoban and screened exclusively in Japan over a period of just two weeks.
In 2019, Eric le Bot launched Les Saisons Hanabi, a festival dedicated to Japanese cinema that aims to make the industry accessible to the general public.
