This little town, located west of Tokyo, in the National Park of Fuji-Hakone-Izu, promises to take the visitor away from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo, despite being under two hours away by train. Hakone, with its lakes and mountains, exudes tranquillity.
Hakone has natural hot water springs (onsen), mountainous landscapes near Mount Fuji, lake cruises along the Ashi, cable car rides and a panoramic train ride that has been in use since 1919. The choice is yours.
