The albums by the icon of Japanese electronic music have been remastered and reissued on vinyl by the label Light in the Attic.

At last. The records of Haruomi Hosono, the Japanese music icon who was a member of the groups Yellow Magic Orchestra and Happy End and who is idolised by hipsters like Mac DeMarco, have been reissued by the label Light in the Attic, and outside of Japan for the first time. So that’s two pieces of good news.
The albums include Paraiso (1978), Philharmony (1982), Omni Sight Seeing (1989), Hosono House (1973) and Cochin Moon (1978). The remastered records are accompanied by new interviews with the artist. So today we’re enjoying listening to ‘Platonic’ from Philharmony, a track that wouldn’t have seemed out of place at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
